embedded? it's in there alright. new pop.
first heard in that same taxi that took me to see sir neville marriner, and dismissed as the lowest form of over-sexualised teenage pop. on further listens, the lyrical value undergoes a slight change.
this girl is brash, certainly. but she's got the same kind of cohones as pink.
she spells her nom de pop with a dollar sign in place of an "s". i wonder how that is affecting her search engine results...
ke$ha
the song in my head, lodged as with a gun, is her new single tik tok
and she has her own channel on youtube
the dialogue between fan and artist getting more mediated, with fans uploading versions of a video for this new single. ke$ha herself appears in several short direct -to-camera messages
in these posts she appears to be exactly what she portrays in her song - a loose-limbed, coolsie blond with an idea of being "edgy"
there is no cynicism in this post of mine, i hope you see. i think she's close to being what other popsters have had to have created on their behalf, and occupied like a character.
and tik tok, for all it's moral hollowness, is a really "kick-ass" summer pop song.
as soon as i learn how to link to it in itunes i will, as youtube seems to be changing away from encouraging embedding even where it is allowed
more another day
